01BRIDGE & STEERING
It starts on the bridge.
Every command from the bridge reaches the plant through the governor and its actuators — the first link in the chain that keeps a container ship on schedule and on its slot.
BOW TO STERN · EVERY SYSTEM ABOARD
Every machinery system on a box ship — from the two-stroke main engine to the reefer-container plant — sourced from beside Alang and dispatched worldwide in 24–48 hours.
9 systems · 60+ brands · 24–48h dispatchContainer ship spare parts are the wear and replacement components for every machinery system on a box ship — the two-stroke main engine and its turbochargers, the auxiliary gensets, the reefer-container refrigeration plant, purifiers, heat exchangers, air compressors, the fresh-water generator and the governor. Wattmare supplies all of them from Bhavnagar, India, beside the Alang ship-recycling yard, as genuine, OEM-equivalent or reconditioned parts in one shipment, dispatched worldwide in 24–48 hours.
A container ship is a floating power station.
Between the bridge and the stern sit a dozen machinery systems that all have to keep running — the two-stroke main engine and its turbochargers, the gensets feeding the reefer plant, the purifiers, coolers, compressors and the fresh-water generator. When one fails between ports you need a single supplier who can cover any of them, fast.
Wattmare supplies the complete container ship spare parts inventory from Bhavnagar, beside the Alang ship-recycling yard — genuine, OEM-equivalent and reconditioned, in one shipment. Walk the ship with us, system by system.

01BRIDGE & STEERING
Every command from the bridge reaches the plant through the governor and its actuators — the first link in the chain that keeps a container ship on schedule and on its slot.
02ENGINE ROOM · MAIN PROPULSION
Amidships and three decks down sit the two-stroke main engine and its turbochargers — the single largest reason a box ship sails or sits at the berth.
03ENGINE ROOM · POWER GENERATION
Diesel gensets carry the hotel load and the reefer plant — on a container ship that auxiliary power is mission-critical for thousands of tonnes of perishable cargo.
04PURIFICATION & COOLING
Centrifugal purifiers, plate coolers and the fresh-water generator keep the plant fed, clean and cool — quiet machines, until one of them fails on passage.
05STARTING AIR
Starting-air compressors charge the bottles that turn the main engine over — small machines with an outsized role at every departure and manoeuvre.
06REEFER & PROVISION PLANT
Container ships carry hundreds of integral reefer containers — most running Carrier Transicold, Daikin, Thermo King or Star Cool units — plus the ship’s own provision and AC plant. We supply reefer container compressor spares for all of them, and the spare on the next flight when a unit trips with perishable cargo inside.
07ARRIVAL
Whatever fails between the bridge and the stern, one message puts the part on its way — genuine, OEM-equivalent or inspected reconditioned, dispatched from beside Alang to every major container terminal.
TYPICAL MACHINERY
A typical container ship carries this propulsion and auxiliary plant — and Wattmare stocks spares for every line of it.

EVERY SIZE OF BOX SHIP
The machinery scales with the ship — a feeder runs medium-speed gensets and a compact two-stroke, while an ultra-large container vessel turns one of the biggest low-speed engines afloat. We supply spare parts across the whole range, for new and older tonnage alike.
THREE GRADES, ONE QUOTE
Every container ship spare part is offered in three grades, side by side, so you choose by criticality, budget and lead time.

Brand-new genuine spare parts for class-critical and newbuild work, supplied with OEM documentation and traceability for your class society and flag state.

Quality OEM-equivalent parts for planned maintenance at 30–50% below genuine pricing — dimensionally matched, material-certified and tested before release.

Inspected, dye-checked and pressure/run-tested parts recovered from decommissioned sister vessels at Alang — up to 70% less, with a 30-day warranty.
WHERE FAILURES HAPPEN AT SEA
The moments a container ship is most likely to need a part — and the spares we keep ready for each.

Sustained high load on the main-engine fuel system and bearings — we stock fuel valves, main and crankpin bearings and liner-honing kits ready to fly out.

Provision and reefer-container compressors cycling hard in the tropics — valve plates, reeds, gaskets and shaft seals on the shelf.

Repeated stops and starts hammer the starting-air and governor systems — compressor valves, actuators and control linkages in stock.

Fouled purifiers and cooling under a working sea — disc stacks, gravity discs and plate-pack gaskets recovered and tested from Alang.
THE COMPLETE GUIDE
Container ships are built around a single large two-stroke crosshead engine — almost always a MAN B&W ME-C/ME-B or a WinGD / Sulzer RT-flex or X-series. Wattmare supplies the full wear-part range: cylinder liners, piston crowns and skirts, piston rings, fuel injection valves and pumps, exhaust valves, main, crankpin and crosshead bearings, and complete gasket sets — genuine, OEM-equivalent or reconditioned from Alang.
Each main engine is force-fed by one to three turbochargers — ABB (A-series, TPL, VTR), MHI MET or Napier. We carry rotor assemblies, journal and thrust bearings, nozzle rings, sealing-air parts and complete service cartridges, so a turbocharger overhaul never holds a box ship at the berth.
We cover legacy and current tonnage alike — including the dual-fuel newbuild fleet (MAN B&W ME-GI / ME-LGIM and WinGD X-DF methanol and LNG engines). Beyond the wear parts above we supply scavenge-air and scavenge-space components, main and thrust bearings, crosshead and crankpin bearings, and shaft-generator spares.

A container ship’s gensets do far more than light the accommodation — they power the reefer-container plant carrying perishable cargo worth far more than the ship’s bunkers. We supply auxiliary engine spares for Caterpillar, Daihatsu, Yanmar and MAN: pistons, liners, valves, bearings and head gaskets.
Around them sit the systems that keep the plant alive: oil separators, heat exchangers, the fresh-water generator, the starting-air compressors and the refrigeration compressors on the reefer plant. One supplier covers all of them, in a single shipment.

Wattmare is based in Bhavnagar, beside Alang — the world’s largest ship-recycling yard. That location lets us offer three grades on most parts, side by side: genuine OEM for class-critical work; OEM-equivalent for planned maintenance at 30–50% less; and inspected, tested reconditioned parts at up to 70% less, with a 30-day warranty.
For an operator running a fleet of similar tonnage, that mix turns an expensive OEM-only spares budget into a flexible one — the right grade for each job, without ever compromising a class-critical component.

A box ship loses money by the hour when it misses a slot. Stocked container ship spare parts dispatch from Bhavnagar within 24 hours by air freight, with full export documentation, and are typically on board within 24–48 hours at the major transhipment hubs.
When a part is not on the shelf, our position beside Alang lets us recover a reconditioned unit fast, or source genuine OEM through our network with a confirmed lead time before you commit. Send the maker and model on WhatsApp and we confirm availability and price — usually within the hour.
