Axial vs radial turbochargers

Large two-stroke engines use big axial-flow turbochargers — ABB VTR and TPL, MHI MET and MAN NA/TCA. Medium- and high-speed engines use radial units such as ABB TPS, KBB HPR and Holset HX. Their wear parts differ, but all depend on a balanced rotor, a nozzle ring, and journal and thrust bearings — the parts we carry for both.
